Sherri Saunders-Goldson, DNP, MS, WHNP-BC, FAANP, is an Assoicate  Professor of Nursing.  She served as the former Interim Chairperson, Department of Graduate Nursing Education, Director of the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Hampton University School of Nursing.  She is the Project Director, of $1.4 million dollars funded HRSA Veteran Bachelor of Science in Nursing program grant entitled Hampton University Veterans Education Transition for Success (HUVETS),   Dr. Sherri L. Saunders-Goldson, is also the former Program Director of a HRSA 2009-2012 funded grant entitled HamptonUniversity CapacityBuilding and Retention Strategies Project.  Additionally, she maintains an active clinical practice at the HU Student Health Center.  She is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Colposcopist.  She received her BSN degree from George Mason University and Master’s degree from Hampton University.   She is also a retired Air Forceofficer whoserved for 20 years.   She has authored publications related to women‘s health issues; presented at national conferences to include the American Academy of NursePractitioners(AANP) Conference, and National Medical Association Scientific Assemble Conference and National Institute of Health conference for Advances in Uterine Leiomyoma Research, SigmaTheta Tau International, Chi Eta Phi Research Conference, and International Society of Nursing in Genetics conference. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty, and Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  She is the President of the Delta Iota Chapter of Sigma Theta tau International Honor Society of Nursing.  She is the chairperson of the HUSON Graduate Scholarship, Standards and Admissions committee, and the Committee on Faculty Research, Publications, Development & Evaluation.  She has served as member of the IRB at Kessler Medical Center AFB, as a manuscript reviewer for peer reviewed journals and as a reviewer for AANP.  Her research goal is to improve health outcomes and preventative practices of women in underserved populations.
