Dr. Chutima Boonthum-Denecke, Professor in Computer Science, joined the Department of Computer Science, School of Science, at Hampton University in Fall 2006 as an Assistant Professor. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Old Dominion in 2007; MS in Applied Computer Science from Illinois State University in 2000; and BS in Computer Science from Srinakharinwirot University in 1997.

Dr. Boonthum-Denecke was involved in several NSF-funded Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) programs: ARTSI (Advancing Robotics Technology for Societal Impact) and STARS (Students and Technology in Academia, Research and Service) Alliances.

Dr. Boonthum-Denecke is also the Director of the Information Assurance and Cyber Security Center at Hampton University  (IAC@HU) and current PI of NSF CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program at Hampton University.
